Itinerary
We have carefully planned out each day to give you the best possible experience. From exploring historic landmarks to tasting delicious local cuisine, each day is packed with adventure and excitement. Join us as we take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating destinations in the world.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a representative from Kili Roam Adventures will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.
If you arrive a day before your safari, you will have time to relax after your journey and prepare for the adventure ahead. In the evening or at a scheduled time, your safari guide will meet you for a pre-safari briefing. This is the perfect opportunity to go over your itinerary, discuss what to expect during the trip, and ensure you have all the necessary items for your safari.
We recommend planning to arrive at least one day prior to the start of your safari to allow for rest and any unforeseen travel delays.
After an early breakfast, your Kili Roam Adventures guide will pick you up from your hotel and set off for Tarangire National Park, a journey of about 2–3 hours through scenic Maasai plains. Upon arrival, you’ll begin your full-day game drive through one of northern Tanzania’s most picturesque and wildlife-rich parks. Tarangire is best known for its vast elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and the life-sustaining Tarangire River that attracts countless animals during the dry season.
As you explore, keep an eye out for lions lounging under acacia trees, graceful giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and, with a bit of luck, the elusive cheetah or leopard. The park’s varied landscape—from open savannah to dense woodlands—offers endless photographic opportunities and a truly classic African safari atmosphere.
Highlights:
- Massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees
- Excellent chances to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests
- Picturesque picnic lunch inside the park
- Diverse birdlife and beautiful savannah scenery
Meals: Lunch & Dinner included
Accommodation: Lodge or Tented Camp in Mto wa Mbu / Karatu area
An early start ensures you make the most of your day in one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife sanctuaries. After a quick breakfast or with your packed breakfast boxes in hand, you’ll depart around 6:30 AM for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes about an hour before descending 600 meters into the vast Ngorongoro Crater—a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”
The crater floor offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in Tanzania, with an incredible concentration of animals within its 20-kilometer-wide basin. You’ll have the chance to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and large pods of hippos resting in the pools. With luck, you might even encounter the rare black rhino or small predators such as servals and caracals.
By midday, you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch by the scenic lakeside as you watch flamingos and other bird species gather along the shore. After a rewarding game drive, ascend the crater rim and travel onward to your lodge in Mto wa Mbu, where you’ll spend the evening relaxing and sharing stories of the day’s unforgettable encounters.
Highlights:
- Early morning game drive in the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater
- Excellent chances to spot the Big Five
- Scenic picnic lunch beside the crater lake
- Beautiful panoramic views from the crater rim
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a small but incredibly diverse park nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is famous for its lush groundwater forest, scenic soda lake, and the possibility of spotting the rare tree-climbing lions resting on acacia branches.
Your game drive will take you through a range of ecosystems—from dense forest to open grasslands and the lakeshore—where you’ll encounter troops of baboons, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and a spectacular variety of birdlife, including flamingos and pelicans.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in one of the park’s designated spots, taking in the tranquil scenery and sounds of nature. In the afternoon, you’ll begin your journey back to Arusha, where you’ll arrive in the early evening, marking the end of your memorable 3-day safari adventure with Kili Roam Adventures.
